Chimney inspection

Highly recommend Prime Chimney! Oceans of gratitude to Angel and crew (Pedro, Mike, Tom and co-workers) for their consummate professionalism, strong work ethic, honesty and skill with what turned out to be a challenging project. They stayed the course, and their patience and persistence paid off...Prime Chimney not only saved our Rumford fireplace but also installed a furnace liner to prevent dangerous corrosive buildup. Everything works perfectly now. The work was outsourced to Prime Chimney by a middleman. In hindsight, I wish I'd contacted Prime Chimney directly, as opposed to going through the middleman, who came to examine our chimney, said it needed cleaning, plus a 10" liner and two 10" caps (one for chimney and one for flue) to fix some water leaking into the chimney box. That middleman became the source of a bigger problem. Turns out his order for the installation of a 10" liner was too small and the 10" caps too short. The result: a smoky backdrafting problem into my husband's and my living room that rendered our fireplace unusable. Prime Chimney had been obliged to follow the middleman's contract order despite raising reservations about his sizes being too small and short. But Angel and crew stepped up to the plate to fix the problems. In the end, the chimney needed a 14" liner and one 14" chimney/flue cap to create sufficient suction to stop the backdrafting problem. Prime Chimney also did a great job cleaning the fireplace. Now there are no leaks, and the fireplace has plenty of strong suction for beautiful, robust fires. As well, Prime Chimney replaced our furnace liner after examining it and finding corrosive condensation damage inside the pipe (the middleman should have flagged this, but didn't even examine it). Despite a glitch that led to the Buderus oil boiler incinerating some debris upon startup after the liner was installed (which led to some smoke, which triggered the alarm & fire department being dispatched), the crew––who had left 10 min. earlier––came right back to meet with the fire department, which said this can happen with a high-efficiency boiler after a new furnace liner installation if wood or other small debris gets into the chamber. Turns out the boiler was fine (our HVAC guy inspected it the next morning) and it works like a charm. Most importantly, there's no chance of future dangerous gas leaks into our basement due to the new liner Prime Chimney installed. My husband and I can't thank Angel and crew enough for making our Rumford fireplace work better than it has since we purchased our home, and for installing the new furnace flue liner which mitigates dangerous corrosive buildup in the furnace flue. A hearty thanks!.

Angel and his team, including Tom and Patrick, are great to work with. They were honest, explained things thoroughly and provided options. They were never pushy and provided fair pricing. We decided to install a wood insert in our fireplace and they provided the dimensions so that we could shop for the insert we wanted and order it for them to install. Once the insert and surround were delivered, the team came out and professionally installed the new liner, insert, surround and backplate as well as a new chimney cap and cemented areas of the chimney that needed it. Once the install was complete, Tom came the next day for final inspection. Prime Chimney was very respectful of our home, cleaned up afterwards and answered any questions we had. We will definitely use Prime Chimney for all our fireplace needs going forward and highly recommend!!

I worked with Prime Chimney on identifying a leak in my fireplace, repointing the exterior brickwork, building a new crown and installing a metal liner. I have had the best experience from start to finish. After having spoken to over 10 different chimney people and being offered extraordinarily different solutions by each of them, I was frustrated, confused and frankly wary of who to believe. Tom came out and was incredibly kind, honest and patient. He explained why some of the other people may have suggested certain things and thoughtfully explained to me how my fireplace works, what parts have problems, how the problems may have started/why they progressed and options for how to address each problem. He and Angel were always very responsive and never pushy and their teams were great to work with - very nice guys, respectful of the property and left everything spotless. I will only work with these guys from now on with chimney related things and would happily recommend them to anyone.

These guys came out the next day on a Saturday.. figured out that the flashing was coming off and that the old owner of my house. When he did the roof put nails in it..safe to say it has been leaking. They had to rebuild the chimney as it was destroyed from the water damage. Put new flashing (no nails) and had it all done by that Monday oh and cleaned my inside of my chimney as well... and did not break my bank. If I could give these guys more than 5 stars I would....dont look any further hire these guys.

I could not have had a better experience with this crew. They are professional, extremely detailed, and do incredible work. They are the best masons I’ve ever observed and they happen to also be great human beings. We needed an entire chimney replacement and they had it done from top to bottom with a beautiful cap and Mason rework at the top in just two days. Their price was very reasonable and they did such a great job that I am referring them to everyone I know locally. I could not recommend them higher. They are outstanding!

They took care of not damaging our property and cleaning up completely after themselves. Attached are before and after photos. The first company tried to convince us they could make it "look good." Do yourself HUGE favor and use Prime Chimney for your needs. They also do stone paver work.

OMG what a difference. The first company we called left us with a mess. When we complained they sent in PRIME CHIMNEY who came on Sunday to redo everything. The first company took 2 day and it was BAD. PRIME took 5 hours, no mess no stress and it was BEAUTIFUL. Do yourself a favor and check BBB for reviews before you hire a company. They were truly wonderful I only wished we hired PRIME first.
